My complaints about
I just read a blog entry that I found very interesting entitled "Lessons Learned on the Development Industry in Mexico" (http://hackerdou.com/?p=553)
I strongly agree with the Most of the points exposed, and where you may have differences will simply matters of perception or slight nuances that do not affect the focus of his writing. For my part I wish to enrich those thoughts with other insights and lessons I learned in my several years of working in this fascinating, funny but also hateful industry.
Fortunately I have worked for many different companies, from the public sector with its storms of developers, consultants and other fauna in this sector, the securities industry, where there are whole squads of personnel systems to small companies where their "area of systems" is a guy who just finished high school and only is responsible for connecting the PC's they buy, so I hope my lessons and experiences especially help future members of this community to get an idea of what they face.
We are a technology area but we love the paper and bureaucracy
Before my rain of flames, I should clarify that I have nothing against the process, not control, nor do I deny order, in the end this is one of the many goals of my work, to bring some order and control the chaos, but it is a fact that several people in an effort to keep better control, exaggerated in their proposals, plane or go astray.
This symptom is seen perfectly in those involved in defining policies and procedures within the area of systems. I recognize that in most cases are fairly successful proposals on the issue of lead follow-up development processes and quality of software products, but I do not understand is why they insist on bringing these controls in Word and Excel? even my eyes cry where such documents have their change control tablita way in the first sheet of paper.
If you are part of a technology area, why not apply the technology to control your own area? Even use the exchange control offers Office (which honestly is far from ideal). It is also typical for the documentation of analysis and design that many people use the mail down, not sure if this is the most current version of the document, or duplicate information across many documents with a different objective, what has resulted? inconsistencies, everyone handles their account, in addition to how much you fill your PC number of files, which let's be honest, you're never going to read carefully or you will complicate the search for information there, especially if you do not have a centralized document repository, and you have to browse tons of emails or folders to find the document you need
And it is not necessary to invest a huge amount of money, with a client MediaWiki implemented as a solution to centralize information on software projects, with appropriate plugins, you have version control, access roles, export to PDF and even trims generating UML syntax and effortlessly. Save
regardless
Some companies (and entrepreneurs), fine wool that invest in technology, purchasing Oracle licenses (which cost several thousand dollars), paid to middle and high-wage high enough, they dream about servers, but you get to see how workers who actually generate the product, and also makes you want to mourn.
am getting to see many places where developers, technical leaders and others who produce the real target technology area (sorry, in my opinion nor the Power points, nor the beautiful Gantt or architectural documents, UML diagrams and the fundamental believe are necessary if, but is not the purpose an area of systems) working under precarious conditions, in work tables or desks with a bad ergonomics, chairs rather be ideal for sunbathing in a garden, not to sit for 8 to 12 hours in a same position, and the worst of it, with older equipment throughout the organization, with which by definition are those most in need of computing power, or do little the manager really needs the most powerful computer and the license most current Office?
There are good tax strategies to maximize the deductibility and depreciation of computer equipment and is shown that in an environment, a person engaged in intellectual activities pays much more than when you have under the lash. But as the subtitle indicates, sometimes the idea is to save whatever it takes, you'd better make a few cents extra, even if you lose weight on productivity issues.
The importance of hours
buttock
many times have we seen in many places, the most respected person is the one that spends more time in the workplace and is considered the hardest working, to the extent that there are places where contract resources "per kilo with a meter, where they pay per hour of" work "of the resource, regardless of the effectiveness or performance.
recognize it is a very sensitive issue, and that definitely measure the productivity of a person can be extremely subjective, and although sometimes I wanted to mathematically determine a formula that relates the concepts of "economic compensation", "experience" and " work actually performed, "I have not found a practical way to carry it out, but I definitely know that there may be solutions to help mitigate this problem without having to fill out timesheets in excel (which more than control, I feel that disturbs productivity, and force you to find justification for the time spent), I have seen tools como Tasktop, donde calcula automáticamente un timesheet de acuerdo al código que modificas dentro de Eclipse, por ejemplo.
Nunca voy a olvidar una experiencia curiosa que me ocurrió en mi primer trabajo, was part time because I was in fourth or fifth semester of studies, I was about to start a project, where my boss then asked me "We need X, Y and Z requirements, how do you see? as long as you shove them? "as is my usual insane, I started to make some notes on paper, take a few strokes, draw some charts, ideas connected by arrows, etc, and I replied in an almost certain" I believe that in month and a half we can have it ready. " Then, my boss is watching me with annoyed face and he says "but I already committed myself to the client remains in a fortnight", may thereupon imagined Series of evil thoughts and curses that went through my head.
fully agree to be negotiated and wherever possible to meet customer needs, ultimately will pay and feeds us, but on the other hand, as a company that provides solutions, we have to land the client in the realm of what is possible and guide you in the best solution in terms of time and scope, burn your employees just to "win" a solo project will lead to weeks of delays, sleepless and horrors. Never underestimate the opinion of a programmer, but junior to be, finally, he will be pushing forward your project, no matter what you say your most perfect and calibradísimo diagram Gantt
Juntitis!
Yes, sometimes I wonder if the goal of managers, project managers or the like, is wasting time in meetings, likewise, not demonize the appearance that the seals are bad, nor the amount of these, provided they have a tangible meaning and set goals and commitments, but many times there have been no meetings where three quarters of the time is wasted in vain justifications or throwing mud, and another quarter to agree in what they see at the next meeting.
Nor will I forget another project, we had a meeting with the project manager wanted to cut forces times project, of course, all this upon request (see above). So we are dedicated to reviewing business activity, planning and explaining the details of each of these, as the manager had little experience in a matter of systems (but had a thousand PMP certification and its derivatives). The meeting lasted 8 hours, and at the end of the day, we reach an agreement to cut some activities, which meant four hours reduce the length of the project. Although I do not help much, because we had a delay of eight hours, to be invested in the board, rather than the activities already scheduled for that day. Already
to finish, I think this post helped me very well to take a bit of catharsis = P, does not mean that everything is bad in that class, if so would not be in it, but I think there are many areas for improvement in future entry probably will fill with suggestions and experiences positive.

Development Industry errata and a farewell to the break
Well, after months of absence, to keep on hold all my experiences in those frigid Russian lands, as I'm back at it again. You could put any excuse as to why not continue updating the blog more often, especially the classic "I have not had time" but not true, there's always time for everything, you just have to organize it, rather it was a matter of laziness, not I can promise not do it again, but meanwhile enjoy these brief periods of lucidity and inspiration.
Before continuing, I would give a small errata regarding my post about Russian Banya, messed up a bit compared to the temperatures, but it is also difficult to take a good indicator when you're not exposed to them, fortunately My friend Masha quickly corrected me, but as soon as I shape around here.
The joke is that Banya temperatures exceeded any expectations I had, Masha Banya told me that a less than 80 ° C is cold! and then to confirm this in various places on the internet, effectively, a quietly Banya over 93 ° C! I sometimes have trouble understanding it, but makes little sense, and I understand because that burning eyes and headaches, the contrast is really criminal, so when I turned to snow and back, I was going to temperatures of 90 ° (for me conservative) at -20 ° C or 110 ° C difference in just seconds! no doubt that the human body is a wonder in this whole issue of homeostasis.
'll end for now, I hope others soon join the one hand I'm missing including Russia and Ukraine, which are involved in some other adventures in Kazan, Moscow, Kiev and Mariupol, I just hope I win the damn nostalgia =)

Knowing Ciudad Real Part II "The Ruidera"
Ruidera is a small town in the province of Ciudad Real, with a population of about seven hundred inhabitants, whose economy revolves, almost entirely, on tourism.
Set in the middle of the Upper Guadiana river basin, giving name to the lake rosary; basin is located in the northern part of the Campo de Montiel. This zone covers an area river approximately 4,000 hectares, of which 3772 belong to the NATURAL PARK LAKES RUIDERA and declared July 13, 1979.
Ruidera To visit, you can do for the national road N/430 (Badajoz, Valencia). If from Albacete in the direction Badajoz, locate the town a hundred kilometers from the capital of La Mancha. In the opposite direction is far one hundred kilometers from Ciudad Real and fifty of Manzanares. Travelling from Madrid is accessed from Manzanares or from Villarta of San Juan, the latter locality where there is a diversion to Argamasilla de Alba which is about twenty miles Ruidera.
history.
What we consider as the scope of Ruidera presents "fingerprints" of human beings in a very remote past, reaching prehistoric stages in which the weapon more accurate and precious few songs were cut back in the Lower and Middle Paleolithic (200,000 to 30,000 years).
Other settlements closer in time, vague chronology, we dare to frame them in the Neolithic period, but will be in the Age of Metal when the ecosystem Ruidera or Alto Guadiana display pools populated by social structures, to a considerable level . In that phase of the early history we find some intriguing buildings and badly damaged, known as "The Motillas" whose chronology of 1,800 to 1,200 would be BC. Already
Iberian-Roman phase, this area was located in the region Laminitana. Belonged to this site and was Lamini term mentioned by Pliny and Ptolemy, as military mansion way from Rome ended in Cadiz, which ran from Mérida to Zaragoza, and the starting point of which was headed to Toledo Consuegra.
Ruidera The word appears in the Middle Ages. "The Ruidera del Guadiana" might express the noise of falling water over the falls of the sinking. However, in the sixteenth century Atlas of the Escorial, a contemporary of Topographic Relations of Philip II, it appears as Riadera, perhaps by the frequent overflowing of the lakes. Ruidera
belonged to the Order of Santiago to the founding of the Royal Ruidera site in 1783, with the lagoon or Hung Long, the King's Cave and part Morenilla Coladilla, which for 550 years were in the hands of the Order of Santiago, became part of the Royal Place and therefore belong to the Order of St. John of Jerusalem.
Real Ruidera Site has been belonging to the municipality of Argamasilla de Alba (population of the Order of San Juan), a hamlet attached to the day September 21, 1990, when Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha independence agreed upon admissibility of the proposed segregation, courageously made by local politicians at the time and unequivocally supported by most ruidereños.
Heritage. Talking
to continue visiting the lakes upstream, you must turn onto the road to the left, the winds, still the KING of the first where we are. Before you should visit the Reception Center Park, located in these lakes, which provides timely information. La Laguna del Rey is the second largest lake in the whole series, with a length of one kilometer and an area of 33.72 hectares, taking "in the deepest ravines over a hundred feet," says local people. United
to the King for a short river, the lake is HUNG, which has a surface of 103.93 hectares, with a very irregular contour length approximately three miles. At the point of the boundary between the provinces of Ciudad Real and Albacete is a place known as La Isla, where there was a medieval fortress. At the end of the lagoon Hanging beside the road, is the Youth Hostel "Alonso Quijano." Hanging
Lagoon BATAN communicates with a channel made by the hand of man. Batan has the oval profile in the vicinity are relics of old mills and fulling. Separated from the lagoon
Beat the lagoon we SANTO Santo MORCILLO or cherubs. The separation step or travertine forming a waterfall, in relation to the sheet of water, usually between 10 and 15 meters.
exceeded the Holy Morcillo, we find the SAVING, separated from the former by a band travertine, and along the lake chain reached the tongue, which in times of flood, to pour into the savior, is a gorgeous ravine or fast . Language no marsh vegetation along its banks to be bounded by a monumental wall Tobazo.
And so we reached the lagoon smallest of all (although a little higher there was another smaller, the Cup), the Redondilla, oval and 3.72 hectares, separated from the language of the iconic travertine usually leads to a spectacular cascade.
If we visit the Cave of Montesinos and Castle Rochafrida, we can do this by going along the road that branches off to the Lakes, left, at the height of the Redondilla or deflected by an asphalt road that bathes the Laguna San Pedro. Before we reach the hermitage of San Pedro de Sahelices, a sanctuary that must have existed when the Reconquista, and its early Christian origins perhaps. Continuing up the road leads to the Cave of Montesinos, whose fame comes mainly from the adventure that she spent the hero of La Mancha Don Quixote.
Descending from the cave we see a deviation labeled indicating the route to follow to reach the Castle of Rochafrida, contained in the year 1216 as the castle of San Felix. It is believed that the name "Rochafrida" sixteenth century.
If we reach the beginning of the Upper Guadiana while contemplating the rosary lagoon, we must go back to the road again along the Laguna San Pedro, which, like the language, at its mouth is flanked by a picturesque wall calcite.
The San Pedra TINAJA refers to the lagoon through two channels trephining travertine. The Tinaja shaped, more or less, tub, with an area of about ten hectares. An important point to highlight this gap is the large amount of printed schematic displayed on its walls, many of them prehistoric.
Above this gap in sight of the lagoon thyme, triangular shape. From here, if we continue the climb, we must do it for roads, skirting Lake CITY, with a length of 1,800 meters. The ecological environment of the lagoon is the most acceptable of all the Natural Park.
Finally, from the Council to Laguna Blanca, the journey becomes quite difficult, especially for passenger cars, making it convenient to do so by road from Ossa de Montiel, Villahermosa, especially if we want to see the source of the Zampullones.

Used Sprinter Conversion
Introduction:
We now have an abundance of asparagus in our markets so I have not missed an opportunity to buy and develop a new recipe with them: Asparagus Tart .
The asparagus comes from the Greek word "Asparago" which means "outbreak." When the soil temperature is warm and there is enough water, asparagus sprout from rhizomes. If you do not cut these shoots or asparagus, the plant would exceed one meter high, with some areas of the Mediterranean is used as a hedge to demarcate plots.
620 grs. fresh green asparagus
1 spring onion 2 eggs 1 garlic
75ml evaporated milk 60 grs. mozzarella cheese 1 base striped mass
Brisa
2 tbsp.
olive oil ½ teaspoon pepper ¼
ground.
nutmeg PREPARATION
Preheat oven to 180 gr. C. Spread the dough on an oven-proof container. Prick the dough with a fork, place a piece of tracing paper on the surface and add a few vegetables in order to prevent the dough rise. Bake approx. 10 min. and set aside. Wash
spring onion and garlic and chop. Heat olive oil in skillet at room temperature medium-high. Incorporate the onion and garlic, season, add the pepper and saute until it begins to soften, approx. 5-8 min. Remove and set aside.
Meanwhile, wash asparagus and cut off the bottom (white). Eight asparagus whole book to decorate the cake. Others cut asparagus sliced ½ -1 cm approx.
In a large bowl, add eggs, evaporated milk and cheese. Add nutmeg, salt and pepper. Mix well. Incorporate the mixture of chopped onions and asparagus.
Pour asparagus mixture over the dough and place the asparagus on the surface that have been set aside, pressing slightly in the mix. Reintroducing the cake in the oven and bake for 35-40 min. at 170-180 gr.C or until mixture is set and crust is golden. Source
